This report covers incidents from March 9-13 as recorded in the Department of Campus Safety’s Crime and Fire Log. Learn more about The Beacon’s weekly Police Blotter here.

Tuesday, March 10

At 9:15 a.m., Facilities Services reported an unsecured garage at a university-owned rental house on the 5000 block of N. Warren St., according to Michael McNerney, director of Campus Safety.

These houses are university-owned rentals for students and faculty, maintained by Grounds staff, which is why Facilities noticed the amiss garage, McNerney says.

This incident is classified as vandalism because there is the possibility of a break-in, but no items were identified as missing, according to McNerney.

Thursday, March 12

At 3:21 p.m., a member of the public reported that their vehicle had been stolen from the 5900 block of N. Yale St., according to McNerney.

The individual had parked off campus due to the increased parking demand during the high school basketball tournament and returned to find their car missing, McNerney says.
