Director of finance election moves to a runoff

The 2026-27 Associated Students of the University of Portland (ASUP) election results are in.

Paris Tran, the previous vice president, will serve as president with Perla Molina Nunez as vice president. The two ran unopposed, winning 93.52% of the vote.

Sarah Cayabyab was re-elected for the director of communications position with 70.74% of the vote, while Kaitlin Victoriano won the Campus Program Board director position with 68.34% of the vote.

The director of finance position now moves to a runoff election as no candidate in the race received over 50% of the total votes. 

Candidates Kyler Lajoie and Gen Du will advance to an additional round of voting that will take place from Tuesday, March 24 at 7:00 a.m. through Wednesday, March 25 at 7:00 p.m. via Engage. The winner of the position will be determined by who receives the most votes in the runoff election.

School of Education: Catalina Quintana

School of Nursing: Ailing Zhen, Nmachukwu Ukaegbu

Shiley School of Engineering: Christian Lobaton,  Marcus Garces
