Waldschmidt Hall was burglarized at approximately 2:09 p.m. on Sept. 8, according to security footage images provided to the UP community by Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Management Michael McNerney.

The two individuals stole wallets and credit cards from the registrar’s and marketing offices, according to McNerney. The responsible parties have not yet been apprehended.

If spotted, McNerney urges community members to avoid contact with the individuals and instead call Campus Safety.

On Sept. 9, around 8:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. the owners of the stolen items reported the burglary from the day prior to Campus Safety. Multiple credit cards had been fraudulently used following the burglary, McNerney said in an email to The Beacon.

Images, provided by Campus Safety, of the individuals believed to be involved in the burglaries.

The individuals entered the building through the side doors of Waldschmidt Hall facing Swindells Hall, which, according to McNerney, were unlocked for business hours.

McNerny says Campus Safety continues to perform irregular foot patrols in most campus buildings and encourages community members to secure their personal property.

In partnership with the Portland Police Bureau, Campus Safety will work to identify the responsible parties and assist in their prosecution, according to McNerney.
