Due to a restoration project on the baptismal font in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher, daily Mass at 12:05 p.m. will be relocated to the Christie Hall Chapel beginning Oct. 9.

Because Christie is an active residence hall, attendees should follow posted signage to a side entrance that leads directly into the dorm’s chapel, according to Director of Campus Ministry Fr. Tim Weed, CSC.

Doors open at 11:45 a.m.

All evening events and Sunday Masses are unaffected and will continue in the Chapel as scheduled.

This restoration project, which is expected to last for approximately three to four weeks, will reseal the Chapel’s font and update its plumbing, ahead of its 40th anniversary next year.

While Weed acknowledges that the academic year is not an ideal time to take the Chapel “offline,” he says that now is a “sweet spot,” as some of the work will occur over fall break, and most of the big Chapel events like weddings and orientation have concluded.
