Update: All water systems were shut off to stop the flooding, and domestic water was turned back on at 3 p.m. the same day, according to the assistant director of Physical Plant Jenn Layman. The leak came from an HVAC line, and it was repaired by 4 p.m., Layman said.

I’ve played soccer since kindergarten and have been a woman even longer. I can remember watching the 2015 Women’s World Cup in a restaurant back home in Colorado, and how excited I was to travel to France in 2019 to watch the World Cup for my high school graduation present. I dyed my hair pink because Megan Rapinoe did, and I’ve spent (probably too much) money on jerseys and tickets to support my favorite teams. Women’s soccer means the world to me. So when the USWNT started officially (by this I mean legally) fighting for equal pay I was right there with them.

For commuter students, it can be difficult to make connections with other students when so many people find friends in dorms or at social events near campus. The new commuter lounge in Franz Hall 123 is, on its surface, a place for commuter students to drop off belongings and get work done between classes, but more importantly, it is a place they can spend time and connect with other commuter students.

It seems that everybody is focused on what green outfits to wear every St. Patrick’s Day (whether this is out of excitement or fear of being pinched is unclear), but what we tend to neglect is St. Patrick’s day food. Sure, there’s corned beef and cabbage – which is still delicious – but it doesn’t hold the same charm as Valentine's Day heart-shaped cookies or candy apples on Halloween.
