Aidan Sanchez and Stephanie Vasquez elected as president and vice president of ASUP

The first election since 2018 that the positions were contested

The votes have been counted for the 2024-2025 Associated Students of the University of Portland (ASUP) election. 

Aidan Sanchez will serve as president with Stephanie Vasquez as vice president with 57.48% of the vote, defeating Laya Duguid and Kainalu Gomera's 42.25%. This is the first time since 2018 that the positions were contested.

Ronit Chopra was re-elected as director of finance with 94.83% of the vote and Sophia Olea VanCamp was elected as director of communications with 97.08%. Both ran unopposed.

Christopher Dobbins was elected as Campus Program Board (CPB) director with 93.77% of the vote and ran unopposed. 

There was a 7.92% rise in voter turnout this year with 25.82% of the student body, 755 students, voting in this election. In the years prior, there was a 14.2%, 20.8% and 18.8% turnout in  2022, 2021 and 2020, respectively.

Senior Class: Ben Carey-DiGregorio, Lawrence Ewald

College of Arts and Sciences: Allana Gladman, Liam Rogan

Pamplin School of Business: Rosana Gutierrez, Mae Cooke

School of Education: Haniel Morquecho

School of Nursing: Nmachukwu Ukaegbu, Nicole Cuevas

Shiley School of Engineering: Sarah Cayabyab, Anthony Lucero
