Erin Jones, an inventive educator and recipient of the 2013 White House Champions of Change Award, gave the University of Portland community a compelling speech in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

Students, faculty and staff gathered last night in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher to hear a powerful speech from Erin Jones, an innovative educator and recipient of the 2013 White House Champions of Change Award. The event was held to remember Martin Luther King Jr. and his accomplishments.

Jones highlighted that students are never too young to change the world, and she dared them to love the world while they change it. She also said that anytime is the right time to stand up for what you believe in, alluding to Colin Kaepernick's protest over the treatment of minorities.
