Member of the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2012, four year letter recipient at Lakewood High School and scorer of more goals in her career than one can even fathom, freshman forward Danica Evans has already established herself as a powerful player amidst an impressively talented freshmen class. Evans is from Lakewood, Colo.

What has been your favorite thing so far about playing for UP?

It was definitely playing my first game on Merlo Field. It was an incredible experience.

What are some of your favorite things about the game?

Just having a passion on the field and getting out there and doing what I like to do.

What does wearing a Pilots jersey mean to you?

It’s an honor, especially knowing that there have been so many great players before me. They have all had incredible results and I feel that if I push myself I can follow in those footsteps.

Who do you look up to on the team?

Michelle Cruz.  She is extremely positive and has really helped all of us freshmen out with transitioning. Overall, she has a really great attitude.

What is your dream job?

Professional soccer. I would love to go overseas and play. However, just getting to keep playing would be a dream.

What are some of your hobbies other than playing soccer?

In Colorado, I have five other brothers and sisters that I enjoy spending a lot of time with.  I was also a gymnast until my sophomore year of highschool and still love gymnastics.

What is a unique fact about you?

Everyone in my family has a first name that begins with “D.”

What are some of your goals for your first season at UP?

I want to break the record for most goals scored, and naturally, trying to win a national championship.
