What are you wearing to DOD?  These students shared with us what they're planning on wearing this weekend.

Students: Sort through your closet and pull out mom’s old workout jumpsuit, search for groovy ‘70s pieces or go thrift shopping in preparation for the annual Dance of the Decades on Saturday, Feb. 10 from 9 p.m to 1 a.m. at the Crystal Ballroom.

This year’s Dance of the Decades is 80s prom theme, although students are encouraged to come dressed from any decade. Tickets are on sale for $10 at the Office of Student Activities and in The Commons at lunch and dinner. If there are tickets left, prices will increase to $15 at the door.

The ticket reads “Intoxication = No entrance” to remind students that intoxicated students will not be permitted entry into the venue. “Friends Don’t Let Friends Puke on Themselves” is printed on bags provided for the bus ride — an idea coined by Kelsie McKee, one of Campus Program Board’s dance coordinators.

Only 1,300 tickets will be sold. Kaity Sullivan, CPB’s assistant director, anticipates that after last year’s sold-out dance and the added Rock the Bluff artist announcement, the tickets for this year’s dance will go fast.

“The anticipation has definitely increased,” said Sullivan. “Also, with last year’s Rock the Bluff release, I think we are expecting larger numbers of people to buy their tickets earlier.”

Whether or not the Rock the Bluff artist will be released at this year’s dance has not been confirmed by CPB.

Sullivan recommends that students purchase their tickets as soon as possible if they want to go.

“Typically this event sells out and tickets go by really quickly, so we want people to get their tickets as soon as they can,” she said.
