Several cars on campus were relocated by tow truck Tuesday morning to clear the filming perimeter for the NBC television show Grimm, according to an email sent to affected car owners Tuesday afternoon by Sean Ducey, Associate Director of University Events.

Speeds Towing, hired by the production company, relocated the cars.

Cars that were parked in the main lot near the Pilot House were moved to the first full row of cars closest to Merlo Field.

Cars parked behind Christie Hall were moved to the first row of the Shipstad parking lot.

“I personally watched them very gently pick up your car and park it in a spot outside the Grimm filming perimeter,” Ducey said in the email.

Public Safety Communication and Technology Coordinator Michael McNerney said “a few” cars were moved due to the filming.

“We got the notice kind of late in the game and a few people had parked their vehicles there and taken off for the break,” McNerney said.

PSafe attempted to reach the owners of the cars multiple times by phone Tuesday morning and, after several hours without response, assumed that the owners were out of town for Fall Break.

McNerney said additional cars will not be moved and cones have since been put in place to section off filming areas.

According to an email sent by Public Safety on Monday, filming of Grimm will take place Wednesday and Thursday from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. both days in the Buckley Center Art Gallery, Romanaggi Hall Labs 101 and 103 and the Waldschmidt Hall parking lot.
