At approximately 7:40 p.m., a community member’s car caught fire in the main parking lot near Clark Library. Two students, Anthony Lucero and Isaac Kelly, helped the community member extinguish the flames shortly after the car ignited, using fire extinguishers from Clark Library and the Pilot House.

On Sunday, Jan. 26, first-year Max Bonne was getting out of the shower around 5 a.m. when he heard a noise at the end of the hall. As he went to investigate the commotion, a stream of water came rushing out of the bathroom. Bonne and his friend, first-year Aysa Jones, began banging on the doors of fellow residents and hall staff.

On Feb. 6, the NCAA announced that the organization’s Board of Governors voted to bar transgender women from competing on women’s teams by changing their participation policy for transgender student-athletes in compliance with an executive order by President Donald Trump. The order, signed on Feb. 5, prohibits transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports.

Donald Trump was sworn in as President of the United States when I was 13 years old. While I didn’t know much about politics, I knew that a man who said “grab 'em by the pussy” on air probably wasn’t the best representation of me and my country. Most importantly, I saw the pain in my mother's eyes watching Trump be sworn into office.
