On Feb. 20, Pilots After Dark began with a round of trivia and students’ curiosity about this year’s Rock the Bluff (RTB) performer, and it ended with UP’s Campus Program Board (CPB) announcing Yot Club as the show’s headliner and The Kilans as openers.

At 9:00 p.m., the Pilot House was filled with delicious sandwiches from Tanaka, lemonade, free shirts, games and prizes as CPB presented a video revealing the artists.

One of the most anticipated events of the year, RTB will be held at the Crystal Ballroom on Saturday, March 21.

RTB attendees may know the American singer-songwriter Yot Club from the song “YKWIM?,” which has gone viral on social media. Either way, students and their guests will have a month to explore his discography before the event.

RTB Coordinator Franky Sotelo says he and his co-coordinator keep students’ interests in mind during the artist selection process. He says both artists were chosen because of their upbeat style.

“Kaitlin and I kept in mind the vibe when choosing an artist,” Sotelo said in an email to The Beacon. “We want to give students a good time. [We were looking for] an artist whose songs are recognizable and who’s able to match the energy of our student audience.”
