We are witnessing a truly extraordinary fall sports season here on the Bluff.

To recap some of the highlights this season thus far: The women’s cross country team secured the West Coast Conference Championship, the Men’s Cross Country team placed second in their championship race. The women’s volleyball team has had some big wins this season. The women’s soccer team captured the championship for the 2016 Nike Invitational and the women’s rowing team swept the Portland Fall Classic. Finally, the men’s soccer team is currently sitting in first place in our conference and is on the brink of winning the league title.

ASUP, in collaboration with CPB and Athletics, will be hosting a tailgate in the Chiles Center Plaza, this Saturday, beginning at 5 p.m. to celebrate the men’s soccer team’s accomplishments and their final home game of the season.

This tailgate will feature a beer garden, DJ, special photo booth and so much more! It will also feature the first ever residence hall cook-off, where various dorms will be competing for the best tasting food. Food will be served in sample sizes to all students and judges will be on site to determine the best food item. The residence hall that provides the best food will receive a grand prize that will be featured and announced at half time.

Pilots: Come out and show your support and unity as a school this Saturday.

The game will kickoff at 7 p.m. at Merlo Field.

The UP men’s soccer team will be facing our rival, Saint Mary’s. If the Pilots win, they’ll secure the program’s first WCC title since 2002. A win also sends the Pilots to the playoffs, so this is one of the biggest games in UP’s history and it will be played on our home turf.

I hope to see you all on Saturday for free food, fun and excitement. #1T1G1F
