Director of Public Safety, Gerry Gregg sent out an email earlier today about an alleged sexual assault that happened to a UP community member off-campus this weekend. See the email here:

Dear Campus Community:

Over the weekend the University of Portland received a report about an alleged off-campus sexual assault that involved a member of our community. The community member was picked up by a vehicle that the person believed to be a taxi and the alleged assault occurred in the vehicle. The driver was identified as: "a male in his mid 40’s with black hair and of Latino or Middle Eastern decent.”

We strongly suggest using caution when traveling to or from off-campus locations. If you have any concerns for your safety at any time, please contact 911 or Public Safety’s emergency number (503-943-4444) immediately. Information about sexual assault resources can be found on the following website: http://www.up.edu/cav/default.aspx?cid=12379&pid=7501&gd=yes
