Don’t miss out on ‘Sherlock’

Brilliant! This is the only word that can describe the "Sherlock" series on BBC. This suspenseful series is a modern adaptation of the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and does an incredible job of putting a contemporary twist on a classic story. You are kept guessing throughout each suspenseful hour- and-a-half episode. While the genius of the show can be difficult to catch, the steps of the case are aptly explained by Holmes.
The characters are captivating and almost all play an intricate part in the development of the episodes. The combination of Holmes' humor, wit, social incompetence and boldness are blended into a fascinating character played flawlessly by Benedict Cumberbatch.
Watson's character does a great job portraying what the audience is thinking, and is played by Martin Freeman who was awarded a British Academy Television Award for best supporting actor in the series.
The intricate web of clues is laid out in front of you in a clever fashion that keeps your attention and has you looking for clues in each suspense riddled episode. Between the magnificent acting, writing and directing of the show, I would be hard pressed to find any flaws. It would not be a stretch to say it is among the best shows on television.
The first season originally aired in 2010 and is slated to begin a new three part series in early 2012. "Sherlock" is available on Netflix or DVD.
