The University of Portland has finalized a contract for Title IX services with Grand River Solutions, a California based group that provides universities with services dealing with matters such as Title IX, Clery Act, DEI matters, and ADA and 504 compliance.

The announcement came in a campus-wide email from President Robert Kelly on Feb 7. The partnership with Grand River Solutions comes after the Title IX Coordinator position was eliminated at the end of last semester due to campus wide budget cuts.

Grand River Solutions has been involved with the University of Portland previous to the announcement. Investigators from Grand River Solutions have been brought in by the University to make investigations into reports made by students to the Title IX office. Now, the group will be taking a more active approach in the Title IX office through Title IX Coordination services.

“They will collaborate closely with campus-based staff who will continue to offer advocacy and wraparound support to individuals involved in Title IX matters,” the email from Kelly said.

There will be a Title IX Information session and Q&A on Tuesday Feb. 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. in the Brian Doyle Auditorium.
