The Pilots came out strong, quickly earning a 17-7 lead over Boise State to open the game, but the Broncos' sharpshooting in the second half proved to be too much for Portland to overcome. After seven tied scores, the Pilots fell to Boise State 81-71 Saturday night in the Chiles Center. With the loss, Portland is no longer undefeated at home this season.

Junior Alec Wintering scored a season-high 26 points and dished out eight assists in the loss. Senior Bryce Pressley added 11 points of his own and freshman Jazz Johnson came off the bench to score 11 points for Portland.

Senior Anthony Drmic led the Broncos with 24 points in the win.

While Portland had a strong start, Boise State was able to claim a 43-40 lead at the half.

Portland came into the game ranked among the top five in the nation for 3-pointers, only sunk 6-of-22 from the 3-point line against the Broncos. The Pilots were able to tie the game again at 67 a piece before the Broncos claimed the win.

The Pilots return to the Chiles Center Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. against Idaho State.
