Why is it that we never hear any more news on "Brangelina" (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie), "TomKat" (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) or 'Bennifer' (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez/Garner)?
I'll tell you why: Everyone is mad for 'Obamamania' (Barack and Michelle Obama).
Obamaniacs rejoice, for your forsaken prophet, the false prophet and worldwide celebrity known more for style than substance, has won the Nobel Peace Prize.
Let's all roll up our sleeves, grab a beer and join him in the Rose Garden of the White House for a celebration of his momentous accomplishments.
Let's all toast to his Nobel Peace Prize to accomplishing peace with Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, Israel, Palestine, North Korea, (phew, should I keep going?) and most importantly with the American people.
Seriously, Norway? You're given the honor of selecting people around the world every year for one of the highest recognitions a human can achieve and you give the Nobel Peace Prize to Obama, who has been in office not even nine months. If the Norwegian Nobel Committee thinks Obama's extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples earns him the Nobel Peace Prize, then they are sorely mistaken.
President Obama was both "surprised and deeply humbled" on receiving news of the award. The world was even more surprised than he was because he hasn't accomplished anything concrete.
He's flown around the world, given some speeches, met with world leaders, but how is that any different from what the former Presidents have done?
According to Thorbjoern Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Committee, Obama has captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future. Mark Knoller, CBS News White House correspondent, states that "this is a Prize meant as an expression of hope that President Obama's speeches and policy statements will translate into actual accomplishments.
The Prize is honoring an expression of aspirations for peace, rather than the achievement of it?"
Seems we have two Obamaniacs on our hands here that latched on to the only two words of the Obama campaign trail, "HOPE" and "CHANGE."
Giving speeches and hoping for global cooperation is all fine and dandy, but what the Nobel Prize Committee forgot were two simple, old sayings: "Talk is cheap" and "You talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?"
I will tell you someone who well deserved the Nobel Peace Prize, Martti Ahtisaari. You've never heard of him? He was the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize winner "for his important efforts, on several continents and over more than three decades, to resolve international conflicts."
Three decades! Obama hasn't even been in office for a full year yet!
It is very upsetting to see the Nobel Peace Prize wasted on false hope and zero accomplishments.
The Nobel Peace Prize belongs to people and organizations who have worked long and hard for peace in this world. It does not belong to someone who has not done anything.
Alfred Nobel stipulated in his will in 1895 that the peace prize should go "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses."
It is outright outrageous. It is a joke, plain and simple.
Not only is it a joke, Obama admits that he is not qualified, "To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures that have been honored by this prize." Therefore, Obama should have politely refused the award, but rather than remain humble as he said he was right before he admitted he was not qualified, he accepted the award to join the club with Carter, Gore and Arafat.
He won the award on the same day he was meeting with the war counsel to weigh whether or not to send thousands more troops to Afghanistan and one week after losing the 2016 Olympic bid for Chicago in Copenhagen.
His high expectations are now sky-high and his approval ratings have dropped tremendously because of the economy and healthcare.
You zombies might think he is an 'inspirational' figure, but he has yet to prove he is an 'action' figure.
As Michael Steele, RNC Chairman, clearly states, "One thing is certain - President Obama won't be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility or backing up rhetoric with concrete action."
Obama, America wants to know, can you walk the talk, or are you just making empty promises?
