With 11 wins, including wins over the University of Washington and the Air Force Academy, the Portland Pilots men's basketball team has already surpassed the win total from the past two years (nine). Along with being 11-7, Portland has posted a 2-1 conference record with wins over San Francisco and Santa Clara and the lone loss to Gonzaga.

The Pilots have gotten to where they are by averaging just less than 70 points per game, a statistic that ranks third in the West Coast Conference. The Pilots lead the WCC in 3-point shooting averaging 38.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Individually, junior-college transfer T.J. Campbell is second in the league averaging 5.1 assists per game. Campbell, along with sophomore Jared Stohl, are first and second, respectively, in 3-point percentage with at least 75 attempts. Making a high percentage of shots along with a stout defense has allowed the Pilots to get within four wins from securing their first .500 season since 2004-2005.
