In the last 6 months I have lost a family member and a friend to cancer. During the Prayers of the Faithful at Hall Mass last week, four people prayed for those they know who are battling cancer. This disease is killing millions of people each year, but there is hope!
Tomorrow and Saturday, UP will be hosting the Relay for Life in the Academic Quad. Maybe you are already on a team, or have donated to a team, but I am on a mission to raise $5,000+ for the American Cancer Society and I need your help.
I am an RA in Corrado Hall and as an incentive to raise money, I told my residents that they could shave my head (ahhhhh!!!) if they reached this $5,000 goal. They are worried that they can't do it alone, so I am asking for your support!
If you haven't already, please join a Relay team (ours is team Hotel Corrado if you want to join us), or if you don't have time to be on a Relay team, please contact me at mcatey@up.edu and I will tell you how to send in cash or check donations, or explain how you can make online donations.
The Relay for Life is an amazing program designed to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. The organizers here at UP have put in a lot of work to make this happen and have it be successful, and I know they would appreciate your support. So if you are around this weekend, stop by and show your constant support to the American Cancer Society and all of the people it helps.
Thank you so much!
