How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! These words echo the prayer of our hearts for this campus and have led us to embark upon the journey of LIGHT-Living In God's House Together. The purpose of LIGHT is to pick up where we started off last year and pursue passionately deeper levels of intimacy with Christ and unity of the Body for this campus.
First and foremost, we desire to provide an atmosphere through worship and prayer for the presence of God to dwell among us and bring us into deeper levels of unity with the Holy Spirit. Our hope and prayer is that from being in His Presence, barriers between denominations will be stripped away so followers of Christ on this campus can walk in new levels of unity. The purpose of LIGHT is to simply live out the prayer of Jesus in John 17:20-23,
"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them as you have loved me."
LIGHT will be held this Friday, April 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Chapel of Christ the Teacher. Melissa Bixler, assistant director of the Offices of Volunteer Services and a dynamic speaker, will provide an insightful message. Worship and music will be provided by members of a local Catholic-Christian band called "Thirst" with prayer and intercession to follow. A free Christian concert will be provided in the Commons following LIGHT at 9:15 p.m. The concert features "Thirst" with special guests "Sons of Day."
Please come and join us to sit in His Presence and let the flow of the Holy Spirit unite the Body.
