Jerry Lewis, born on March 16, 1926 in Newark, New Jersey, is an American comedian, actor, singer, film producer, screen writer and film director. In addition to his entertainment career, Lewis supported fundraising for research in muscular dystrophy. From the early 1950s until 2011, he served as national chairman of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Lewis also hosted the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon for over forty years raising over $2.6 billion [1].

Today, March 16, 2016, Lewis turns 90 years old and I constructed the following numerical brainteasers as a birthday gift for him:

  1. Lewis’s 90th birthday expressed in the day-month-year calendar date format as 16-03-2016, or simply as 16032016 is a perfect square date since 16032016 equals 4004 x 4004 [2].
  2. In addition, Lewis’s new age 90 equals 42 plus 48 where the product of these two numbers yields 2016.
  3. The product of the digits of Lewis’s birthday expressed as 3161926 equals 2^3 x 3^5 where the product of these four prime digits yield 2 x 3 x 3 x 5 = 90, Lewis’s new age. Also, if Lewis’s birth year 1926 is split in the middle as 19 and 26, twice the sum of these two numbers gives 90 too.
  4. If numbers 1 to 26 are assigned to the letters of the English alphabet, A as 1, B as 2, C as 3, etc., the sum of the numbers assigned to the letters of Jerry equals 76. Coincidentally, Lewis’s 90th birthday coincides with the 76th day of 2016 which is 3162016.
  5. The sum of the digits of Lewis’s birthday written as 3/16/2016 add up to 19 and interestingly enough, the 19th prime number is 67, which is the reverse of 76 (Jerry).
  6. Further, the sum of the numbers assigned to the letters of Lewis is 68 where the prime factors of 68, namely 2 and 17, also add up to 19.
  7. Also, 19 equal the sum of the month and day numbers of Lewis’s birthday.
  8. Moreover, square of 19 is 361, which when reversed yields 163, which in day-month date format represents 16 March (16-3), coinciding with Lewis’s birth date.
  9. The reverse of 68 (Lewis), namely 86, equals 2 x 43 where twice the sum of these two prime numbers equals 90, Lewis’s new age.
  10. Lastly, the sum of the prime factors of Lewis’s birth year 1926 yields 2 + 3 + 107 = 112. Interestingly enough, 112th prime is 613, the reverse of which is 316, coinciding with Lewis’s birth date, March 16.
Thanks for being so funny and making me laugh countless times during my childhood years Jerry Lewis. Additionally, thanks for your genuine commitment and unlimited energy you provided for MDA. I wish you a happy, wonderful day on your 90th birthday!
