The Rev. Tom Doyle, C.S.C., will leave the University of Portland at the end of the spring semester to join the staff at the University of Notre Dame. Doyle will leave his position of UP executive vice president to become the vice president for Student Affairs at Notre Dame.
At Notre Dame he will oversee 30 dormitories, campus ministry, the police department, career services and the health and counseling center.
"He has been an effective leader and, all the while, a good priest. Portland's loss will be Notre Dame's gain," said UP President the Rev. E. William Beauchamp, C.S.C., in an e-mail.
After working and living at UP since 2004, Doyle said he will miss the students and the people he works with.
"I plan to make the best of these next six months," Doyle said.
