Update: The University of Portland opened Thursday at normal time, despite Wednesday night snowfall, according to an email from Provost Thomas Greene.
A Winter Weather Advisory for Portland has been issued by the National Weather Service from 10 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday. There is still snow on the ground at University of Portland after consistent snowfall throughout the day on Tuesday, which cancelled classes on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.
There is an 80 percent chance of snow tonight, and a 50 percent chance of snow Thursday morning before 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. There is also snow predicted to fall as late as Thursday evening.
The National Weather Service asked Portlanders to watch out for slippery roads and reduced visibility into morning commute times, as “significant impacts are likely due to leftover snow and ice from overnight.”
