On Monday, Nov. 6, the Portland Pilots Men’s Basketball team will host an informational session in the Chiles Center for anyone interested in learning more about home games this coming season.

The session will be held from 8:00-9:00 p.m. in the Chiles Center. Free pizza will be provided as well as a raffle where the winner walks away with free Jay-Z tickets.

The event will be an opportunity for students and fans to interact with head coach Terry Porter and other players and coaches, learning about the different ways they can get involved with the program this year.

“It’s really just about trying build an atmosphere with the students,” coach Porter said about the event. “Just talking about how we can really ignite the student body to come out to our games.”

The Pilots had a rough season during Porter’s first year as head coach of the Pilots. They finished a disappointing 11-22 and at one point lost 14 straight games in a row.

There a lot of new faces on the basketball team this year, with Porter bringing in nine newcomers for the 2017-18 season. According to Hoopscoop.com, the Pilots had the 10th best recruiting class in the nation, including the best class in the WCC and the second best class amongst mid-majors in the NCAA.

The Pilots will open their regular season on Nov. 11 at the Chiles Center against their crosstown rivals, the Portland State Vikings.
