Mack’s Market acai bowls have been a hit this year, even with the temperature dropping lower each morning.

On Wednesday, students can switch up their usual Pilot House sunrise bowl and get a special “University of Portland bowl” from the Carioca Bowls food cart at the Pilot House patio from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The acai bowl will be topped with bananas, granola and blueberries for six dollars.

Not in the mood for an acai bowl? Alongside Carioca Bowls will be Big Fat Wieners, a food truck with an extensive menu offering burgers and hotdogs. Neither food cart will accept meal points, but they will take cash or credit and debit cards.

The food carts are part of ASUP President Brandon Rivera and Vice President Tsikata Apenyo’s plan to bring more food options to campus.

ASUP is in the process of bringing more food carts to campus. They have been in communication with Koi Fusion, 808 Grinds, Cream Northwest and more, but no concrete plans have been made.
